FAH Covid-19 Policies & Procedures

Last updated 05/03/2020

We generally have a rigorous cleaning schedule, but we are currently performing even more disinfecting than usual.  Our primary cleaner is an accelerated hydrogen peroxide disinfectant (which is bactericidal, viricidal, and fungicidal), and we are secondarily disinfecting smaller surfaces (door handles, counters, phones, computers, etc.) with >70% alcohol (known to specifically kill the coronavirus).  Furthermore, we are actively surveilling our staff members, and are enforcing strict home quarantines for any staff member who becomes sick (regardless of whether the symptoms are consistent with Covid-19 or not).

Please take advantage of our “Coronavirus Curbside Service”!  Alternatively, drop your pet off and then come back later in the day!

Contact us to find out more details about these options.

We are currently offering Curbside Service for all appointments, and are encouraging drop-off appointments when possible.  If you opt to accompany your pet(s) to our hospital, please understand that we currently have a “Limited Lobby Policy” ... Only clients accompanying patients for euthanasia or some other equally serious condition will be allowed into the building; all other clients will be asked to wait outside.  We ask that only 1 client accompany each patient; all extra family members (including children) should either not visit the hospital or should plan to wait in the car.

Beginning Monday, May 4, any client wishing to enter our building must wear a mask or similar face covering!

Masks will be available for purchase for $1.00 (subject to availability).

Please do not visit FAH:

  • if you are clinically ill with fever (temperature >99.4) with or without symptoms of Covid-19 (headache, runny nose, sore throat, dry productive cough)
  • if you are inside of a recommended quarantine period following the development or resolution of symptoms and/or potential exposure to Covid-19
  • if you have had direct contact with someone with symptoms of Covid-19 in the past 14 days

If any of the above situations apply to you, please contact us ... We will work together with you to try to find a way to accommodate your pet’s healthcare needs!

We are here to help, pets and people too!
